june 2006
june 27 2006 20:04 pdt lots going on. new people, different place, changes in the air. this connection is dropping packets like crazy so i'll have to write some stuff up and post later when i have a better signal. until then, excelsior!
june 17 2006 15:12 pdt back to cali. we're having a wonderful weekend even though the countdown has already started. today, i learned a little something about forwarding xwindows to a remote display. not very exciting to most people, but may turn out to be useful some day.
it's hot here. i'm looking forward to hopping in the pool tomorrow.
june 11 2006 22:11 edt home in kalamazoo for mike's graduation this weekend. good quality time with the family, even if it was a little short. everything seems rushed when you know you have a flight home in just a few hours.
tonight i figured out that the placement of page breaks was messing up the flickr boxes i was trying to post in the others page. fixed now... enjoy.
june 6 2006 08:03 pdt frustration mounts. so little time left uncomitted this summer: lots of travel in the next 6 weeks, and then it starts getting darker earlier again. there is so much we want to do here, and it seems like there are fewer and fewer opportunities to spend a saturday to enjoy just being here.
that being said we did a pretty good job on sunday. we drove up to mount tam, did a little hike on the north slope along the course of a stream that cuts down through the woods into a reservoir above stinson beach. there were lots of stairs. it was gorgeous. when i'm writing this, there should be some pictures on the right, in the flickr box.
june 3 2006 18:34 pdt dinner with sam in the city tonight. improved map below, now with zooming and satellite switcher!
june 1 2006 17:05 pdt there should be
a little tiny google map right about here: (not anymore, it moved- see
above)
click and drag, see how it works? isnt' that great? more to come.
june 1 2006 07:38 pdt the tivo fix worked. garden is growing. cat is crazy. flickr has renewed my bandwidth privilidges, so i may have some more photos to upload tonight, if i can smoosh them down to an acceptable size.
also been thinking about a small project using the google maps api. they want to make it easy for you to rope their map interface into your own website, as long as you don't charge customers to use it. if i get something working, i promise to make a big deal out of it- but i probably won't have much time to play until the weekend.
