april 2007

april 19 2007 21:17 pdt torts on monday. i'm moderately nervous. also, we just learned yesterday of a plan to build an apartment complex on the open lot behind the houses across the street from us. based on the plan i've seen, it looks like the only entrance/exit to the complex will be via the street we live on now. we have about ten days to file our comments with the city planner's office. i'm deeply concerned and can't stop thinking about it. it naturally doesn't help my mood that this is happening during my exams.

fortunately, i also have a property exam in ten day's time. perhaps this is just an example of fortuitous events conspiring to help me prepare for that class.

april 9 2007 00:04 pdt my first final exam is in just two weeks. torts at 8:30 in the morning. i feel like i'm better prepared for tests this time around. i hope i'm not just fooling myself.

this week is busy- we have all our regular classes, plus an information session about classes for next year, plus additional exam study sessions. at least the weather has cooperated the last couple of days- it's cooler and rainy now, and it's supposed to stay cool and rainy for the next couple of days. rain means i have one less potential distraction to worry about.

we had our last indoor soccer game of the season tonight. we lost by just one point, 8-7. less heartbreaking than it otherwise might have been, because last week the score was more like 12-1. p and i both scored goals, and we both had opportunities for more than one. i should have tucked one away into the upper left corner, but the goalie just happened to be ready for the shot. and she had a moment of same-team uncertainty where either one could have taken the shot but both of them waited just a second too long. this was certainly the best game we played all season, and we deserved to win it. maybe next year we'll be able to pull one out, since some of our novice players have a couple under their belts now.

i'm on call in property tomorrow. we're going to talk about the measure 37 regulation in oregon. i'd better get some sleep.
